How do I know you are qualified?
I qualified with a diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy from the UK's most prestigious hypnotherapy training institute (The Clifton Practice). My training and portfolio submissions took many hundreds of hours to complete and, as such, allow me to be a full member of the Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH), the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the National Board for Modern Psychotherapy (NBMP). All of the aforementioned organisations require me to adhere to very strict codes of conduct and ethics. I am also a fully insured hypnotherapy practitioner and have PVG Scotland Disclosure certification.
Will hypnosis mean I will be 'out of control?'
No, hypnosis is simply a state of very deep relaxation and is, actually, very enjoyable. Whilst you may not be able to recall everything you hear during the session, you will never be in any situation such as those portrayed by stage hypnotists or, indeed, unable to awaken at any point should you choose to do so.
Is my information kept private?
Yes. Your sessions and your personal information remain confidential at all times.
Is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) suitable for children and teens?
Yes, SFH offers a gentle and thoughtful approach to the issues faced by children and teens.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies according to each individual but, as a general guide, depression and anxiety would require around 8-12 sessions, Specific phobias 3 to 4 sessions, Smoking cessation therapy is a one-off 90-120 minute session (£120)
.
What are your fees?
Each session costs £70 and lasts approximately one hour.
How do the sessions work?
Session 1 (the initial consultation) is an information gathering and brain explanation session where we discuss our approach to your problems and how we can work together to begin the healing process. Subsequent sessions involve a combination hypnosis and focus on solutions and progress.
Will I have to 're-visit' painful memories or events from the past?
Absolutely not. SFH is very much about moving forward and I do not practice any type of regression therapy*. (*nb some phobia therapy will require you to imagine a scenario from your past but this is created by you and is created consciously).
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
A full refund or transfer of payment to your next appointment will be offered providing you give at least 24hrs notice prior to the scheduled appointment.
What if I have more questions?
Please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
